Mixed doubles will span until Sunday prior to the men's and women's competition. Mixed doubles are new to the Games and all games are 14 hours behind. The first draw is in three hours from now, 7PM North American Eastern standard time. Please note that Mr. Ptz is the third for the Swiss and not the second behind Mr. Retornaz.

The William Penn Overture: Part II

Another reason while the Eagles beat the Patriots on Sunday: the Statue of Billy Penn. It was said that when the One Liberty Place opened in not quite 31 years ago when it surpassed Philadelphia's city hall in tallest building located in the city proper. This despite a "gentleman's agreement" that such an event would not occur. Seven years prior, the last championship prior to the new building saw the MLB Phillies win the Fall Classic. Upon breach of the supposed agreement, it was said that Billy Penn had "cursed" the city in the big four professional sports.

One team, the National Lacrosse League's Wings have the joint record six titles (1989, 90, 94, 95, 98, 2001). Their much newer outdoor counterpart in the Major Lacrosse League, the Barrage, were Steinfield Cup Winners in 2004 and 2006. The second incarnation of the Major Indoor Soccer League adopted the already existent Philadelphia Kixx of the second National Professional Soccer League (that folded in 2001). The Kixx won the inaugural 2002. The Barrage came to Philadelphia from Bridgeport, CT in 2004 while folding after 2007

Since that time, many more skyscrapers and such buildings have gone up. Then the Comcast Center came to be. Then in 2005, one final skyscraper was built before a novel idea came about. This new building, the Comcast Center, was finished on June 27, 2007 when to cap off construction, the Billy Penn statue was affixed to the top of the new behemoth deemed the largest structure in Philadelphia. Whiel the Arena Football League's Soul won their first Arena Bowl a year and a month later, it was that October in 2008 that saw the Phillies again win the World Series. Since the relocating of the Penn figurine, the Eagles won Super Bowl LII their first NFL championship in the Super Bowl era.

Many of the other "lesser" franchises happened to win following Billy's move, but more negative happened. The Barrage lasted through the end of the 2007 season before folding, having won in both 2006 and 2007. The Kixx won but a month after Billy's move before changing leagues after the MISL's demise and dissolving in 2010. The Wings, who were the last of the NLL's original franchises and cities, moved to Uncasville, CT after not making the playoffs outside of 2008 since they last won it all in 2001. A different Philadelphia Wings team is set to play in the NLL for the 2019 season. Other sports have had Philadelphian teams win since Billy Penn began to sit atop the Comcast Center. But that may be considered an influencing factor in the Eagles beating Brady-Belichick's New England.
